Box Joint Jig Sets

While I enjoy hand tool work, sometimes machines are the way to go. Recently I needed to make a bunch of utilitarian drawers and wanted to use box joints. I have always made my own box joint jigs, but they normally ended up being temporary for a certain project, then quickly tossed when no longer needed. The wooden registration pins would go in and out of size with the humidity, and the fence dado would normally have an issue or two as well.

There are a lot of options out there for box joints. Incra makes a great jig, but it is pricey and more complicated than I normally like my jigs. There are also the router table jigs, as well as the router dovetail/box joint jigs. All of these work, and work well, but require pretty significant set up or cost a bit more than I care for.

The design I came up with for my jig ended up being simple enough to manufacture and easily installed into a tablesaw or router table jig. As cost was low enough for producing the parts I decided to make these available in my store. To keep cost as low as I can, instructions will be be digital only and packaging will be basic. There will be a few videos on YouTube as well for more details on using the set.

I may add different sizes at a later date, but the four sizes in the current set should cover most box joint needs.
